The Medal
THE 2026 MEDAL
Everyone who makes it all the way to the finish line will be rewarded with a beautiful wooden medal. The medal is handicrafted by Raw Cut Studios.
This year's medal is a milestone marker - the 10th edition of EcoTrail Stockholm - and ties the history of our race to its royal heritage. The design, crown and the decorative drapings allude to the royal coat of arms. The crown symbolizes not only Sweden, but also the history of Djurgården (where the race takes place) as royal land. We also think the ceremonial, yet festive, design of the medal fits well for the 10 year anniversary. The 2026 medal doesn't just represent a finished race, but also ten years of EcoTrail experiences, performances and togetherness in the beautiful nature Stockholm has to offer.

2025
The 2025 medal design was inspired by the fauna and wildlife of Norra and Södra Djurgården where EcoTrail takes place. Djurgården's fauna has a long and fascinating history. In the 17th century, the area was a royal wildlife park and hunting ground. The park was also home to several species of excotic animals, imported by king Karl XI as symbols of power and wealth. During the 19th century, the area was transformed into a recreational area where the public could enjoy nature. A part of Södra Djurgården island was designated as a public zoo, which was very unusual at the time. Skansen, which opened in 1891, was the world's first open-air museum and zoo and has ever since played an important part in preserving both domestic and foreign animal species.
Through the years, the EcoTrail Stockholm courses have stretched across both Södra and Norra Djurgården - always close to its fauna and wildlife. The 2025 medal feautres fox, wolf and, of course, red deer - the symbol of Djurgården.
